Why Wildflower?
- The common definition of a wildflower is a plant that grows in natural places.
- 60 to 80 percent of the world’s flowering plant species rely on animals to pollinate them,
- Wildflowers also support the soils they grow in, keeping them stable.
Why Vibes?
- A definition of vibe is to convey a sense of (a place, a feeling, etc.).
- Often, people will become overcome with a distinctive feeling of nostalgia
I have always felt at home among the wildflowers in nature, growing up in a valley where trilliums grew wild on the hillsides, daisies filled the meadow beside my home, and forget-me-nots gathered in a vase on my grandmother’s table.
I learned early on that one’s heart could be like a wildflower– “Strong enough to rise again after being trampled upon, tough enough to weather the worst of summer storms, and able to grow and flourish even in the most broken places.” — Nikita Gill
Taking this thought, I fashioned a way of life, where my heart beat “to the beauty of her wildflower heart and seashore soul.” — Angie Weiland-Crosby
As I began my teaching career, and then my own writing path, I realized that I was not the only one who felt at home amongst the flowers, who continued to be resilient in the face of obstacles and negativity. “One person’s weed is another person’s wildflower.” — Susan Wittig Albert
So I created Wildflower Vibes Writing to help others bring all of their writing needs together in one place!
I am a writer, teacher, and a former organizational development consultant; a mother, wife, daughter, and sister. And I am that little girl who still listens to the wind play in the tree’s leaves, smells the rain fall on the wildflowers, and looks for the rainbows at the end of the storms.
